Tuesday: Rescue of 16 Vulnerable Street-Dwelling Individuals, Reunion of 3 with Their Families

Kathmandu - On Tuesday, 16 vulnerable street-dwelling individuals were rescued from various service centers of Manav Sewa Ashram. Additionally, three dependent individuals were joyfully reunited with their families.

On this day, services worth NPR 364,442 were utilized from the Ashram's service centers. For the care of vulnerable individuals residing at the Ashram, donors contributed NPR 704,312. Additionally, philanthropic individuals provided 13 meal services (morning and evening combined) and six snack services across various service centers. The Ashram also received in-kind donations worth NPR 66,810 from different donors.

Manav Sewa Ashram is dedicated to rescuing, treating, nurturing, protecting, and reuniting with families vulnerable individuals who are forced to live difficult lives under the open sky, on streets, and in public places. These individuals include the helpless, destitute, disabled, orphaned, and physically and mentally weak. The Ashram formally started its services on August 29, 2012 (Bhadra 13, 2069 B.S.) with its main office in Hetauda, Makwanpur.

The Ashram has declared its goal of building a "street-dwelling-free nation" by 2025 (2082 B.S.), focusing on those who are unable to care for themselves and have no one to provide for or look after them. To implement this vision effectively, the Ashram is currently operating 26 service centers in 20 districts across all seven provinces of Nepal. It is also engaged in rescuing and rehabilitating vulnerable street-dwelling individuals in all 77 districts of Nepal and in countries such as the United Kingdom, Qatar, and Australia.
