Lakshminarayan Awas – A Home Taking Shape in Karnali

Over 100 lives supported daily, thanks to your generosity.
Surkhet - With a vision to bring dignity, shelter and humane care to those living on the streets in Karnali Province, Manavsewa Ashram has begun construction of the Lakshminarayan Awas provincial-level building in Surkhet.
The project is being built using funds collected during the Shrimad Bhagwat Sapta Gyan Vigyan Mahayagya, held last year from Mangsir 21 to 28 a spiritual gathering where faith turned into service, and devotion took form in bricks and foundation.
The Ashram expanded its 12th branch in Birendranagar-12, Surkhet on 18 Magh 2075 BS, with the goal of creating a province free of street-dependent individuals through cooperation. A year later, Karnali was officially declared the first road-dependent free province in Nepal, with support from the provincial government - a milestone of humanity.
So far, the Surkhet branch has rescued 482 individuals from various districts. Currently, 91 residents live under protection, including men, women, boys and girls each carrying a story, each rebuilding life one day at a time.
Until now, services have been operating from a rented house. But with the purchase of 14 kattas of land in Birendranagar-11, Charkune, the dream of a permanent home has begun to rise slowly, steadily, like hope taking shape.
On Friday morning, at 10 AM, the foundation stone was laid, marking the beginning of construction. The provincial government has committed to building the Narayan Residential Building (estimated cost: Rs 15 million) while Birendranagar Municipality will construct the Lakshmi Residential Building (estimated cost: Rupees 32.4 million). MSA
This is more than a building. It is a promise that no life should end unseen on the streets, that care can be built into walls, and that humanity can become a home.
