4 Rescued in Arghakhanchi as Manavsewa Ashram Aims for Street-Free Lumbini

SANDHIKHARKA, ARGHAKHANCHI – In a momentous step toward making Lumbini Province free of street-dependent individuals, Manavsewa Ashram Tilottama successfully rescued four vulnerable people from Arghakhanchi on Wednesday.

The rescue operation was conducted in close coordination with Sandhikharka Municipality. The initiative is part of a broader mission to provide protection, medical treatment, and a dignified life to those living without homes or support systems.

Meet the Rescued Individuals
The mission reached out to four elderly citizens, many of whom face mental health challenges:

  • Narayan Tamata (70): Rescued from Sandhikharka Municipality-2.
  • Shashikala Thapa (67): Rescued from Sandhikharka Municipality-7.
  • Chintamani BK (63): Also rescued from Sandhikharka-7.
  • Dande Kami (63): Rescued from Malarani Rural Municipality-6.

A Path to Dignity

All four individuals have been transported to the Manavsewa Ashram in Tilottama. The Ashram has committed to providing them with essential healthcare, psychiatric support, and a stable environment where they can live with honor.

Urbin Sapkota, a central member of Manavsewa Ashram, highlighted that this is part of an ongoing provincial drive. "During this current rescue mission, we have already taken eight people under our protection from various locations across Lumbini Province," Sapkota stated.

The collaboration between local government bodies and social organizations like Manavsewa Ashram continues to be a lifeline for the most marginalized members of society, moving the province closer to its humanitarian goal of zero street-dependent people.
