Pokhara Manavsewa Ashram to Host Mahayagya to Support Homeless Shelters

A Grand Mahayagya In Pokhara On May 2026: Join Manavsewa Ashram’s Mission to End Street Dependency (Baisakh 19)

POKHARA, HEMJA – In a major push to bolster its rescue and rehabilitation efforts, the Pokhara branch of Manavsewa Ashram (MSA) has announced it will host the Shrimad Bhagwat Sapta Gyan Vigyan Mahayagya-2083. The seven-day spiritual event is scheduled to run from May 2nd to May 9th.

The announcement was made during a press conference on Monday, where organizers detailed an ambitious roadmap for the Ashram’s future. The Mahayagya aims to raise essential funds to complete an ongoing building project, construct the Lakshmi Narayan Temple, establish the Muktidham Dharamshala, and significantly grow the organization's Akshaya Kosh (endowment fund).

Spiritual Teachings for Community Change

The Mahayagya, a seven-day recitation of the Srimad Bhagavatam is a cornerstone of MSA’s fundraising strategy across Nepal. These events are designed to bridge the gap between spiritual awareness and practical philanthropy. By utilizing the teachings of renowned narrators, such as Bhagavat Bhaskar Kamalnayan Gautam, the Ashram fosters a culture of compassion to support the care, rescue, and rehabilitation of street-dependent, helpless, and disabled individuals.

Ambitious Goals for 2026

The funds collected during the May event are earmarked for critical infrastructure. The Ashram stated its goal is to complete the current under-construction facility by mid-autumn 2026. Once finished, the expanded capacity will allow the branch to provide life-saving services and shelter to approximately 3,000 people in need.

Beyond immediate construction, the Ashram is focusing on long-term sustainability. "We are working to strengthen our revolving fund to ensure that service management remains seamless for years to come," a spokesperson shared during the briefing.
