Mechi-Mahakali National Rescue Journey | 12 Homeless People Rescued on Day 5    

JANAKPUR — Twelve street-dependent people were rescued on the fifth day of the Mechi-Mahakali National Rescue Yatra. 

The ongoing national campaign aims to rescue, protect, and rehabilitate vulnerable individuals living on the streets. The group of rescued individuals on day five includes two women and ten men.

Rescue Operations Across Dhanusha, Mahottari, and Sarlahi 

The dedicated rescue team searched multiple locations across the Dhanusha, Mahottari, and Sarlahi districts. They found and assisted vulnerable individuals enduring harsh conditions in several public areas: 

  • Roadsides 
  • Temple premises 
  • Public squares 
  • Open spaces 

Rehabilitation and Shelter Allocation 

The rescued individuals have been transferred to secure shelters for immediate care and long-term rehabilitation: 

  • Manavsewa Ashram (Sarlahi Branch): 5 individuals accommodated. 
  • Manavsewa Ashram (Rautahat Branch): 7 individuals accommodated.

About the Mechi-Mahakali Rescue Campaign 

The Mechi-Mahakali National Rescue Yatra is a collaborative humanitarian initiative led by the Manavsewa Ashram and the Ani Choing Drolma Foundation. 

The primary goal of this nationwide campaign is to ensure that no human being is left homeless or forced to live on the streets, especially during the challenging rainy season.
