Kathmandu: On Tuesday, six homeless individuals were rescued from various service centers of Manavsewa Ashram, and four individuals were reunited with their families, according to the organization.

On this day, services worth NPR 105,129 were utilized through the ashram's service centers. Additionally, donations totaling NPR 285,531 were received from various donors for the care of needy individuals residing in the ashram. Similarly, philanthropic individuals contributed 16 meal services (breakfast and dinner) and one snack service across different service centers. In-kind donations worth NPR 26,135 were also received, as stated by the ashram.

Manavsewa Ashram is dedicated to rescuing, treating, nurturing, protecting, and reuniting destitute, helpless, disabled, orphaned, and physically or mentally weak individuals who are forced to live on streets, sidewalks, and public spaces. The ashram officially commenced its services on Bhadra 13, 2069 B.S., with its main office in Hetauda, Makwanpur.

The ashram has pledged to make Nepal a nation free of homeless individuals by 2082 B.S., focusing on those who are entirely unable to care for themselves and have no one to look after them. To implement this vision effectively, the ashram currently operates 26 service centers across 20 districts in all seven provinces of Nepal. It also extends its humanitarian efforts to rescue and manage homeless individuals in foreign countries such as the UK, Qatar, and Australia.
