20 Rescued on Day 18 of Mechi-Mahakali Journey | A Republic Day Miracle in Nepal Pokhara

HUMANITY SERVED: 20 Homeless Citizens Rescued in Pokhara on Nepal’s Republic Day

POKHARA, NEPAL — Proving that the true spirit of a republic lies in serving its most vulnerable, the Mechi-Mahakali National Rescue Journey successfully rescued 20 street-dependent individuals on Nepal's 19th Republic Day.

Organized jointly by Manavsewa Ashram and the Ani Choying Drolma Foundation, this compassionate mission reached its 18th day on Friday, bringing the total number of rescued individuals across Nepal to 152.

The rescue operations focused heavily on Pokhara, Damauli, and surrounding areas to ensure no helpless citizens are left to brave the upcoming monsoon rains on the streets. Among those rescued was a woman in critical condition who had lost lower-body mobility after a car accident.

Abandoned at Gandaki Provincial Hospital for 14 days with no family to care for her, she has now been moved into safe custody. All 20 individuals receive safe shelter, medical treatment, and a family environment at Manavsewa Ashram Hemja

Following their work in Pokhara, the Mechi-Mahakali National Journey team departed for Nuwakot on Saturday morning.
