Health Is Wealth: 3-Day Care & Program in Kaski, Pokhara | Manavsewa Ashram

Based on the Manavsewa Ashram’s values of Swasthya nai dhan ho and Sewa, this initiative elevates high standards of care, restores resident dignity, and supports psychological healing.

Health Is Wealth स्वास्थ्य नै धन हो: 3-Day Care & Capacity Building Program in Kaski, Pokhara by Manavsewa Ashram.

A vital 3-day training program for Manavsewa Ashram’s district coordinators, departments - child welfare & protection, and health personnel is being conducted in Pokhara. The event focuses on health care, emergency response, and mental health awareness, strengthening the Ashram’s mission to restore dignity, psychological healing, and medical support to vulnerable residents.

We often hear that health is wealth. The phrase "Health is Wealth" translates closely to "Swasthya nai dhan ho" (स्वास्थ्य नै धन हो) in Nepali. For most of us, good health means a nutritional diet and exercise. For the Manavsewa Ashram’s staff and volunteers, real wealth is “Sewa, the capacity to heal, provide safety, and peace to those who have none of that.

  • Much-needed help: Providing critical Sewa”, the physical relief to residents who come from harsh street conditions.
  • Restoring dignity: Treating every individual—affectionately called Narayans and Laxmis—with equal respect.
  • Empowering Hands and Hearts: Equipping staff to handle emergencies with confident skills and care.

Taking care of individuals with intense psychological and physical conditions requires more than good intentions. It demands specialized skills, composure, and emotional strength.

  • CTA: Enabling and training teams for rapid response during medical emergencies.
  • Mental Health & Wellness: Addressing the psychological and emotional needs of Ashram residents who rely on well-planned support and daily care.
  • Synchronized Guardianship: Bringing together district coordinators to implement uniform, high standards of care across all Manavsewa Ashram branches.

Striving for Kinder Tomorrow

Manavsewa Ashram’s health training in the Kaski branch, Pokhara, was another step towards a fully compassionate community. When health workers hone skills, they grow stronger with their knowledge; the entire community rises with them. Compassion, backed by practical skills, can change lives and turn places of refuge into a real haven for healing.
