Prakash Adhikari/ Rss surkhet, 19th of January, 2077. Eight years ago, while studying in the first year of graduation, a brochure fell into the hands of Sarjan Oli of Hetauda. The brochure was information about the rescue and service of orphans living on the streets.
After reading the brochure, he woke up early to reach the ashram. "After studying college in the morning, I went to the ashram in the afternoon with my mother, I was very touched to see the condition of the destitute children and the mentally ill," he said about his social service journey. I did."
Since then, he has overcome many obstacles and has been working tirelessly in public service. His social service journey has reached Karnali through various districts of the country. 22-year-old Sanjita Gautam from Kaver has become a friend of creation. After receiving training from Ramji Adhikari, a positive thinking activist and founder of Manav Seva Ashram, he wanted to devote himself to human service. Sanjita also came down to Hetauda from Kaveri to take care of the street people. Manav Seva Ashram, which has its main office in Hetauda sub-metropolis-4, started searching for and rescuing the homeless, mentally ill and disabled in the streets of different cities and markets of the country. The ashram conducted a volunteer campaign to arrange proper accommodation for those forced to live on the streets due to bereavement and mental illness. Srijana and Sanjita joined the same ashram. They have been working as a couple from helping the Ashram by collecting donations, cleaning the dependents, and teaching children to read and write. Under the leadership of Srijana, the orphans were rescued from the streets of Chitwan. The pair of Srijana and Sanjita reached Karnali exactly one year ago via Chitwan, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Pokhara, Gorkha, Baglung, Kailali. When you come to Karnali, won't you get help in the campaign somewhere? It is a concern. "Ram Prasad Thapalia, who was the chief district officer of Makwanpur at that time, was the chief secretary of the Karnali state government. He was a person who closely watched the ashram, so it was easy for us," said Srijan. .”
In the first week of December 2075, the campaign was started by rescuing two parents who were living in a street hut in Birendranagar-12 Newar Ashram. On this day last year, Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi formally inaugurated the ashram. 170 people have been rescued from various districts of Karnali including Surkhet since last one year under the leadership of Srijana-Sanjita. Among them, those with families were reunified, while the remaining 44 are in the ashram. "We were wondering how many died, but when we rescued them and returned them home, they were happy," said Sanjita.
Twenty-five-year-old Srijana has a master's degree in management. At a time when he has to work and take care of his family, he is working day and night in the service of street people. "Our daily life is spent gathering donations, we have to wash the faeces of our parents, we have no need, the greatest religion is human service", said Srijana, "We are happy to be devoted to human service." In the beginning, they had no support even from their families. Is this how life goes? Repeatedly asking such questions was boring. Some people said that I will get a job, why do we spend time in this kind of work. However, the journey of creation and Sanjita did not stop.
Currently, he is doing training by going to schools, colleges, and Toltol in Karnali with the creation-sanjita humanity promotion campaign. This campaign is being conducted from district to district by making seven provinces as the center in accordance with the goal of declaring Nepal a country with no road people. The Karnali state government has also declared the road unmanned state on January 4th. Karnali has become the first province to have no manned roads.
From the Ministry of Social Development of the provincial government to the local level, the issue of road human management has been included in their main priority. If any person in Karnali is found in the street as a professional, mentally ill or disabled, the police have been called and rescue arrangements have been made. The Karnali government has helped to realize the slogan of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali' taken by the Nepal government by declaring the road unmanned province.
