The Power of a Shared Purpose | Gandaki Boarding School's Lesson in Compassion

Grade 10 students of Gandaki Boarding School demonstrated exceptional social responsibility by skipping their afternoon tiffin to donate the funds to Manavsewa Ashram.

This act of kindness highlights the growing role of youth in community welfare and social service.

For most, lunchtime is a period for rest and social interaction. However, the Grade 10 students of Gandaki Boarding School in Lamachaur have redefined this time by setting up a profound example of social responsibility.

By choosing to set aside a portion of their daily lunch funds, these students collectively saved Rs 22,834. These funds were used to purchase and donate essential food items to support the dependent residents at the Manavsewa Ashram Pokhara Hemja Branch.

This contribution represents more than the provision of supplies; it serves as a message of community support. The selfless act of reducing one’s own meal to address the hunger of another is an exemplary gesture, demonstrating that civic empathy is thriving in the new generation.

The students, accompanied by their teachers, visited the ashram to deliver the supplies and offer their respect to the residents. Spending time listening to the stories of the dependent fathers provided a sense of connection and solidarity to those under the ashram's care. This thoughtful effort brought significant happiness and a sense of belonging to the residents.
